Girls in Tech

Putting computers, digital skills and role models in front of girls who are too often left out of technology, with partners like Skye8 and Women Techmakers.

The gap we are closing

Technology is where many of tomorrow's jobs are, yet girls in our communities rarely get to touch a computer, let alone imagine a career in tech. Empowering the girl child in information technology is one of the founding objectives of Yekov Foundation.

What we do

  • Hands-on training. Through our partnership with Skye8, a Bamenda technology company, our students learn computer and digital skills in a real tech workplace.
  • Role models. We bring women who build technology into the room. At our launch, software engineer and Women in Tech advocate Lukong Anne spoke to the young people present.
  • A stage for girls' ideas. At our IWD 2026 Gala, alongside Growing Girls Into Tech and Med Techies, young women presented AI projects to an audience of leaders.

Where we are going

We want every girl in our programmes to leave with digital skills she can use at school, in a job or in her own business, and with the belief that tech is a place for her.
